Picture of Maddie's litter ?  Yes Maddie had 10 puppies . Sad part because they were early C-section  , no milk yet ! We'll bottle feed , feed on Maddie , & let pups borrow Breeze with plenty of milk .

Maddie & I started waiting for puppies last night . Her temperature dropped to 99.5 at 6:30 am . Should go today !

Maddie's whelping area set up on the porch . Have supplies nearby on porch . Cooler equipted with heating pad for newborns . Extra newspapers & towels nearby . Whelping box ready & lowered sides . Matress on top of couch , that was converted into a Cardigan Condo , Having a place to rest for a 3 day pre & post whelping , comes in handy . Now to con . . . I meant convince the wife to stay up for 3 days while I snooze on the Cardigan Condo ! Bring on the puppies !

Pea Porridge hot . Pea porridge cold , my litter is 5 days old ! That's not a mouse between the Blue Merle & Black & White , it's a tiny Cardigan . Whelped at 145 gm now almost 200 gm ! Very strong , active , & nurses well . Tough little gal !

Erin in background , has for a lifetime home with Big Ears Kennel . Little Bear , in front , is still looking for a special home .

Father & Daughter came from Buffalo to get a Cardigan pup .  Looks like another Big Ears Kennel puppy is going to a good family in the country .

Breeze & puppies .

 Breeze had C-section today . Both Breeze & I to tired for a second all nighter !

Breeze had 7 pups not the 5 the vet promised .

Breeze at 8am this morning . Not much has changed .

Up all night , campped out with Breeze , & still no puppies ! Breeze panted & stressed all night . Thought for sure she was ready . At 5am this was the sight of Breeze . Hear her tearing up her whelping box " nesting " .

Well it's 2am , three walks later & no pups yet . Breeze still panting .

Tonight's the night ! Since 9pm Breeze was in whelping box & panting .

 Transplanted wild mint several years ago . Doing fine for my ice tea .
