When I was a kid we had one small Black & White TV with 3 stations , shared my bedroom w/ my brother , & a mix breed dog . Today I have a color TV w/cable , share my bedroom w/ the  wife , & have 11 purebred Welsh Cardigan Corgis . Christmas was simple then . Today you have to honor every religious celebration , yet if you say anything but “ Merry Christmas “ you’re on the Naughty List ! 

So that’s why I celebrate Leif Ericsson’s  Birthday . No not that Leif Ericsson this Lief Ericsson ! 

Why Lief Ericsson ? He was real . Birthday dated about October , which was about right . Vikings would leave newborns out overnight . If they survived they were hardy enough for the climate . Winter babies would be hard to feed & the land could support only so many . Ancient Nordic Tribes would hang fir trees inside in deep winter . They marveled the tree stayed green . Plus in Family Court I won his birthday for visitation ! So Happy Leif Ericsson Day ! Keep Leif Ericsson Day in your heart all year round !

Boxing Up Last Minute Gifts !

Kate got tired of the cats fighting Rose for the dog's bed . They all have their own beds but like Rose's bed by the sunny window & heater . So the idea hit Kate , as she was unboxing gifts . . . if the cats kept climbing in the boxes as she emptied  them , maybe they would like to keep them ? So Kate cut down one side ( they like to look out ) added towels , & placed them by the heater . Purrrfect !
