Who's The Donut Man ?

Wylie prefers the soft donut over the plastic Cone of Shame . Vet was worried he would catch too many mice with plastic Cone of Shame ( huh ? ) . Navigation would be easier with the soft donut but the plastic Cone of Shame easier to keep clean .

Most Cardigans are glad if their pups ears go up . Betty's ears & tongue are up ! She can even touch her nose with her tongue ! 

Waiting List ?

Been raising Cardigans over 20 years . A common request is to be placed on a waiting list . We never did or never will have a waiting list ! Many breeders have non-refundable deposits with their waiting lists . One fellow , who bought 2 pups from us , was 250 on another breeder's list . It would be at least 5 years before he saw a puppy ! 

One has to know , although we plan 3 healthy litters a year , Mother Nature has the first & final call . She decides when , if , & how many litters a year . She selects numbers in a litter , colors , genders , & dates . We just wait , wait , & wait some more ! Best bet is watch for posting of new arrives on our blog . Someone has to get a Cardigan puppy ! 

Maybe ?

 Just returned from vet's . With vet's help , Jane & Grand Champion George might whelp a litter December 6 ( give or take a couple days & sleepless nights ) . Maybe February 1 , if all goes well , the pups might be ready for a new home . Now to wait , wait , & wait some more . Mother Nature can be fickle !

New Regulations ?

 The Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America ( CWCCA ) just emailed out AKC's new regulations for dog breeders . The CWCCA seems to greet these arbitrary regulations with doubt . I understand this is a weak attempt to protect our four legged friends from abuse , but falls short in reality . To Cardigan breeders that are stewards of the breed's standards , the AKC regulations are window dressings . 

My pledge to this amazing breed is to keep the qualities ancient Welsh farmers maintained . Breed healthy Cardigans for intelligence & temperament , eager to use their multi-purpose abilities to please their human family . I will only sell pups that meet these standards to families that appreciate this special breed . The AKC regulations fail to address the wagging tails & warm loving eyes our dogs greet us with . Ownership should be limited to families that can love & care for Cardigans . Can the AKC regulate love ?
