Ruff Ruff Night !

 Seven had a C-section yesterday . We saved her pups ( 2 male Blue merles , 2 female Black & Whites ) but paid a high price . Mom had no milk & still doesn't . She ignored the pups & is still groggy from the operation . We held her down while lying on the floor & holding the pups on ! Then we tried bottle feeding them formula . Meds ! Nasal sprays ! Then do it all over again , several times . At daybreak mom starting to warm up to pups but still no milk ! Vets on speed dial . Hope next few days improve as we monitor litter .

Bitter Sweet !

 With Seven's & Butch's litter expected by December , I reflect on the public's pending response . Keep in mind , with over 20 years breeding , about 50 litters , & over 260 pups , occasional email inquires will berate me ! On our side we have scores of champions , almost daily emails thanking us for breeding wonderful family members , & good standing with AKC & CWCCA . If it wasn't our pledge to the stewardship of this amazing breed & glowing reports  , the few cruel remarks from the uninformed , would hurt ! 

So Kate & I brace ourselves for another series of sleepless nights , with a pending whelp , & mom nursing new pups . We never charge for labor or worry ! Always say , if I didn't love this , you could never pay me enough to do this ! I'm thankful for Kate & our wonderful dogs !

 Silo is ten ( my Grand Champion George littermate ) stops on a hike , so his Human friends can catch up !

Not Again !

 Just when you thought it was safe . . . they pull you back in ! Expecting another litter . Seven's first , to whelp on Dec 1 ( maybe ? ) . Nov 22 vet will X-ray for puppy count ( even though last litter count was 2 puppies off ! ) . Seven is a Black & White with tan points . Dad , Butch , is a Blue Merle . Should produce a real colorful litter with sound temperaments !

Don't Forget Sunday !

 Most skip off Daylight Saving's Time Sunday . Clocks fall back ! Worked with a fellow who was always a hour late on weekends , except the weekend he forgot to turn his clock back ! For last 2 mornings I've been off Daylight Saving's Time . It's so dark , I wake at 7am instead of 6am . My dogs are not pleased ! In a few days they will need to deal with it anyway !
