Cardigan Rabbit Roundup !

Few days ago a raccoon visited our backyard rabbitry . Cage doors pulled open . Only a few tuffs of rabbit fur behind . 3 rabbits missing . Yesterday spotted all 3 rabbits in backyard ! Was able to touch them but before I could grip them . . . they were off . Each time I approached , they took off . Laid out a series of doorless coops , hoping they would walk in . Before I could approach , they were off & running . 

Only one hope . . . Cardigan Rabbit Roundup ! One white doe was being brave . My girls spotted her & acted as if it was the rabbit from Monte Python ! Finally after I explained " Rabbits run " Cardigans chase " , a plan came together . After a lot of swearing & threats , a weary rabbit allowed me to pick her up . Rabbit caged . Girls get biscuits . Two more rabbits at wild !

Red Tape ?

Tried masking tape , duct tape , masking /duct tapes combos , & 2 types of cloth tape but no red tape ! Even used Cone of Shame over taped ears . Rocky's ears still lose to gravity ! Not giving up ! 

Lucy Wins Again !

Leggs Found A New Place To Dwell !

A nearby Cardigan Breeder , who started with a pair of my girls , needed a male for her grumpy Blue Merle Female . Leggs , a Black & White boy with a pleasing temperament , was the ideal answer . 

Left , George my 12 year old AKC Grand Champion Blue Merle  . Other left Leggs , almost 6 Black & White ! Enjoy your forever home .

We have 2 paired adults available for someone foolish enough to get into Cardigan breeding !

 Every year I promise Kate , I'll cut back . This year will plant about half . Have 2 or 3 more weeks before transplant outdoors . Will safe guard from late frosts with mini-greenhouses & milk jugs hot caps . Moved seedlings to higher level , as Rocky was getting close to reaching table level !
