What ? What ?

In my youth working at General Electric , most of my conversational hearing was destroyed . The huge machines , like the bells in Notre Dame , drove Quasimodo & me deaf ! So I rely on emails for correspondence . In person I'm pretty good , but on the phone . . . " What ? What ? " . . . & that gets old fast .
