 Once soil weight added , pots will settle . 18 varieties . Heating pad elevated under tin sheet . Tin sheet protects pad from moisture & allows  heat transfer . LED grow light will be helped with unit near south window . Heavy duty plastic tub supports unit & catches over watering . Once seedlings big enough , will be transplanted to single pots , without need for heating pad & placed on porch . Watch for actual starting last week of March ! Gotta plan ahead !

Making TG Easy !

Every year I worry about baking a 5 hour turkey & having it ready with rest of meal . Not this year ! Last month I baked a turkey just for sandwich meat . Have leftover dark meat & white meat in freezer . Will thaw out meat & broth for stuffing . Warm up meat with gravy . Work magic on stuffing , sweet potatoes , & store made potatoes . I can smell the turkey sandwiches already ! Kate has ordered the pies ! Like think I'm ahead of the TG rush !

 Why November ? Travel weather can be nasty . November not our first choice . Canada celebrates TG in October . The first national Thanksgiving was proclaimed by President George Washington on October 3, 1789, Here's a few turkeys getting ready for TG in our front yard !

Am I Going Crazy ? Don't Answer That !

 Last few months , think Copper is trying to talk to me . . . or at least scold me ! For years watched crazy shut ins on TV, insisting their dogs could talk ! Not saying Copper talks in words but he growls at me waiting for me to drop treats or his food . 

A New Cardigan Ability ?

 Copper comes running up to me , out of the blue , demanding non stop petting . Figured weak bladder & wants to go out . Then on one forced petting workout , I heard the toaster pop up . Could it be , with Copper's superior sense of smell , he smells my waffles are ready ? Matched his force petting with micro wave , stove , & oven ! I tend to set things to cook & walk away , hoping to remember to return . Could Copper be my little timer ? Learned my pups have grown into so many self taught home aide companions , could this be just one more ?

 Couple of my nephew's kids had children . Being a gardener , I looked over the varieties of seeds I collected . No luck ! None of them matched names of the babies ! Don't give up ! With some research online , you can find a name & seed match some where ! I did . Watch out for shipping fees , many times double the price of seeds ! So try to find several matches on one seed company for one shipping fee  . Some companies ship free ! Imagine opening a dull Christmas card & finding a pack of seeds with your name or kid's on it ? Most seeds are light enough not to add postage fees . If you have Scots-Irish blood , buy seeds on sale & save till birthdays or Christmas !

Seed packets are colorful enough for tree ornaments , place in scrap books , or given to people that do garden , if you don't or don't have space .
